Welcome and News Update

Postby mattr » Tue Oct 20, 2009 1:31 pm

Welcome to the Ca-bone model discussion forum on opendiseasemodels.org.

Please feel free to post questions and suggestions regarding the Ca-bone model. We encourage a community effort to progress and apply the model.

Our first manuscript is In Press:

Peterson MC, Riggs MM, A physiologically based mathematical model of integrated calcium homeostasis and bone remodeling, Bone (2009, in press), doi:10.1016/j.bone.2009.08.053

The model equations and parameter estimates are provided in the manuscript -- a working version in Berkeley-Madonna (http://www.berkeleymadonna.com) will be posted shortly to our google code site (http://code.google.com/p/calciumhomeost ... ion-model/). I will send a notice once the code is available.

The Core Model Development Team for this project is also forming and currently includes myself and Marc Gastonguay from Metrum, Mark Peterson (Biogen Idec) and Serge Cremers (Columbia University). We will be holding initial discussions in the coming weeks to develop our short and long term goals for the model. Please post your suggestions.

Kind regards,
Matt
